Yamato Bakery, the neighborhood Japanese bakery

There is this little Japanese bakery along Jupiter St in Makati. It’s beside a ramen house (Mitsuyado-Seimen ) and Razon’s. We chanced upon this place last summer when we had halo-halo at Razon’s.

I love their blueberry danish.

You can see what's baking in the open kitchen too.

Try the hokkaido milk bread too. Eat it on it's own or use your favorite spread. It was Php 90 per bag, which has 4 thick slices. It may seem a bit expensive but it does taste good.

Cakes and deli sandwiches

Pizza
Before there were cronuts, there was the pizza croissant of Yamato. Flaky pizza dough with bits of bacon, pepper, onions and a smothering of cheese on top. Delish! I would spend on this than on the over-prized cronut. Speaking of cronuts, heard they started baking their own version recently. I'll try to visit again soon, perhaps after we've tried the raved about Mitsuyado Sei-men.
